Front Deck/Porch
We added a 10 x 10 deck area at the base of our front steps. I think that once we paint it the same color as the porch, and then add the walkway out the side, it will look good. We have to do landscaping, and them it will soften the area, and also mask it a little. Right now I am a little doubtful, because we have not seen anything out there in so long.

MorNIng exCUrsIOn
This morning we decided to work on the flower bed we wanted to put in in the back yard. We started by plating the Flowering Cherry tree where we wanted it, then made a round flower bed around it. It took us about 2 hours to dig up all the sod that was around our marked off area. We kept trading off and taking turns, but finished, went in for lunch, then got ready to go to the lake house. Here is the bed...I will post the afternoon festivities next..

Spring Break: Or is it Winter Break?
The Boxes looks great and give the ceiling some character, but also makes it harder to paint all the angels and sides.
So on Monday and Tuesday I took on a BIG challenge, maybe one that was too big for one person. It has been so cold and windy, yet I decided I wanted to pressure wash and then paint the ceiling and floor of our porch. I am not sure what kept me going when the wind was whipping the water around me like a car wash, but I go through the pressure washing by 1:30 or 2:00 on Monday. After that I waited for the ceiling to dry (here the wind helped out), then began painting it. Bryon and I chose a color called Grey Spruce from the Valspar Porch Paint Collection. We got the oil finish versus the matte or non-skid. I painted half of it yesterday, then picked up again this morning by caulking the side painted yesterday, and then painting the other side. What a two days! But now the hard part is done, and I can caulk the side painted today, then touch up paint over all the caulk when dry. The porch floor is next!

The Floating Dock at the Lake House
Ok, so we bought a tritoon (I am not sure of the specifics of it) but now we have to built a place to PUT it :0) Bryon started working on the bridge this past week, but now we have built the main portion. On Saturday, Bryon and I built this whole thing from 1:00 to 8:00. We were tired, but so proud of it! We think it look great! It is a 10 x 10. We can build anything! :0)
